Earl A. Smallfoot

Earl A. Smallfoot passed away in Gothenburg on Friday, August 31. He was 80 years old. Services were Monday, Sept. 3 at the McVay Memorial Chapel with Rev. Loren Kniep officiating. Interment was in the Gothenburg Cemetery.

Earl A. Smallfoot was born to August and Minnie Smallfoot on March 3, 1899 at Dunbar, Nebr. He moved with his parents to a farm north of Farnam. He worked on farms around the Eustis and Farnam areas as a young man. On Sept. 2, 1925, he married May E. Murray.

In 1934 the family moved to Gothenburg where he was employed at odd jobs until he went to work for the City of Gothenburg. After that he was employed by the Howell Lumber Company, working there for 16 years. He also worked on a ranch at Keystone and lived in Scottsbluff for 13 years before returning to Gothenburg.

He is survived by his wife, May; two sons, Dale of Columbus, Georgia, and Dean of Gering; two daughters, Mrs. Earl (Ruth) Miller of Gothenburg and Mrs. Harold (Ruby) Fox of Gering; one brother, Chester of North Platte; and one sister, Evelyn of Farnam; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Music was provided at the service by Larry Viter and Mrs. Robert Lamb.

Casket bearers were Warren Fox, Tim Fox, Mike Smallfoot, Rick Smallfoot, Kully Smallfoot, Alan Fox, Don Fox, Kenneth Miller, and Jerry Miller.
