Daniel B. Page

Daniel Benjamin Page of rural Interior, SD died March 24, 1992 at Martin, SD at the age of 104 years, 7 months, and 3 days. Services were held March 27 at the Martin American Legion Hall and interment with military honors were held at the Mt. Hope Cemetery at Springview, NE.

Dan was born August 21, 1887 in a honestead dugout cave 6 1/2 miles northeast of Springview to Willus G. and Elizabeth A Custer Page. Since 1917, Dan has been actively involved in ranching in the Bennett and Jackson Counties of SD except for the 21 months spent with the U. S. Army Infantry during W. W. I. In 1984 at the age of 96, Dan was honored by the SD Dept. of Agriculture for being the oldest active farmer-rancher in the state. He was married to Juanita L. Estes at Rapid City, SD on June 06, 1931.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Juanita of Interior; sons: Frank and Dennis of Interior, and George of Pavilion, WY; daughters: Betty Leach and Bonnie Risse of Martin, SD, Verna Lines of Carbondale, KS, Jerry Fanning of Vetal, SD Pearl Wilsey of Philip, SD, Shirley Kingsbury of Rapid city, SD, and Kathy Beach of Wall, SD; 39 grandchildren; 41 great grachildren; nephews Glenn & Russell Forgey and Charles & Edgar Painter; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers and sisters; and grandchildren Kevin Fanning and Sarah Kay Page.
