Otis Lippincott is Victim Of Drowning

Otis Lippincott, 69, lost his life Friday morning, November 14, 1969 in a drowning accident at the Sutherland reservoir, 20 miles west of North Platte, Nebraska. In a North Platte hospital recovering from shock is L. C. Erlewine, 69, of Hastings. The two men had gone hunting Thursday. Friends of Lippincott said that he hunted nearly every weekend during the open season. According to reports from the Lincoln County Sheriff's office the boat the men were using at the reservoir struck an obstruction and capsized. Erlewine was found hanging onto the boat by other hunters. The time of the accident was not known. The temperature at North Platte Friday morning was 17 degrees. Lippincott was a car salesman for Jerry Spady Pontiac Cadillac here in Hastings. He had been with the firm since 1960. Prior to that he managed a filling station at Fourth and Burlington. Surviving Mr. Lippincott is his wife, Grace.
