Anna P. Cross, 100, of Sheridan died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, in Sheridan Manor. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery, Elks Section, with the Rev. Doug Melius officiating. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Mrs. Cross was born Oct. 11, 1902, in Eustis, Neb., to Christ and Caroline (Smith) Gaibler. She was a 1922 graduate of Eustis High School. She married Leslie M. Cross March 20, 1923, in Moorefield, Neb. They came to Sheridan in 1938. Mrs. Cross volunteered for many causes. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Church Circle 4, Eastern Star Naomi Chapter 2 and the Women's Club. She enjoyed working in the yard and garden. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1990, four sisters and four brothers. Survivors include a son, H. Duane Cross of New Orleans; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
