Willis "Bill" Callahan
Willis "Bill" Callahan, 71, died Wednesday at a Gothenburg Hospital.
He was born September 22, 1915 at Brady to Fred and Molly (Connelly) Callahan. He married Ruth Lind on March 22, 1937 at Stockville, Nebraska.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth of Brady; four sons, Robert of Oconto, Larry of Lexington, Willis of Gothenburg, and Doug of Cozad; two daughters, Rosella (Mrs. Cecil) Baker and Chris (Mrs. Lynn) Barnes, both of Cozad; two brothers, Paul "Bud" of Farnam and Bert of Brady; three sisters, Amy (Mrs. Ed) Lind of Gothenburg, Irene (Mrs. Lee) Lind of Ignacio, Colorado, and Mary (Mrs. Arsan) Thibodeaux of Zachary, Louisianna; seventeen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Services were Friday at the McVay Memorial Chapel with Elder Dan Peckham officiating. Burial was in the Gaslin Cemetery, south of Brady.
Music was by Larry Viter and Deea Peckham. Pallbearers were Ray and Albert Connelly, Wray Lydic, Charles Burson, Kenneth Stevens and V.W. "Buzz" Stebbins.
A memorial has been established to the American Heart Association.
McVay Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
