BURLEY — John B. Babcock, 74, of Burley, died Sunday at St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center in Boise.

Born Sept. 1, 1908, in Farnam, Neb., where he attended schools, he married Irene M. Murray on Dec. 20, 1928, at Norton, [Kan.] In 1955, they moved to Burley, where he worked for Chisholm Brothers for 27 years before retiring.

He was a member of the Methodist Church in Eustis, Neb.

Surviving are: his wife of Burley; a son, John L. Babcock of Brighton, Mich.; a daughter, Arlene Kerbs of BUrley; two grandchildren; four sisters, Dora Davison, Vi Pinkerton and Mattie Baxter, all of Powell, Wyo., and Midge Baxter of Kearney, Neb.; and a brother, Marvin Babcock of Kearney. He was preceded in death by a daughter.

The funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Payne Mortuary Chapel in Burley. Burial will be in Paul Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday afternoon and evening and prior to the service on Friday.+
