Sarah Ann (Babcock) Woolstrum
Sarah Babcock was born July 5, 1857 the oldest of a family of seven that came to the home of John Hunter and Jemina G. (Lippencott) Babcock, on the Babcock homestead, now owned by Archie Cullen, Jr. She died at the home of her son, Henry, in Marshfield, April 6, 1922. Her school days were spent at the Otter Creek school.
She was married Sept. 6, 1875, to Thomas Woolstrum. Three boys came to brighten their home, Bert of Milton Junction, Henry of Marshfield, and Walter of Farnam, Neb.
After living at the Babcock homestead for a while, they went west with the tide as far as Farnam, Neb., where they remained four years. They returned to Milton Junction, resided here till 1900, then moved to Marshfield.
Recently, Mr. Woolstrum has assisted his son, Bert, on the farm, while Mrs. Woolstrum stayed with her son, Henry, and family.
She retired at night apparently feeling as well as usual. When they went to call her in the morning, to their surprise and sorrow, they found her dead. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, three sons, nine grandchildren, two sisters, two brothers and a score of relatives and friends.
