Final Services Held for Ralph S. Walters, 60
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at Pine Bluffs, Wyo. Sunday afternoon for Ralph S. Walters, 60, who died at his home there Thursday, April 12, of an acute heart attack. The Rev. R. N. Johnstone officiated and burial was in the Pine Bluffs cemetery.
Pallbearers were Clifton Robertson, Carl Sundin, Roy Barkell, John Harer, Jack Hockersmith and Robert Wilhelm.
Mr. Walters had been brought home the previous Friday from the hospital, where he had been a patient a couple of weeks after suffering what was believed to have been a light heart attack and had appeared to be making a good recovery.
Ralph Silas Walters, son of Frank and Hallie Walters, was born March 13, 1902, at Hiawatha, Kans. In 1927 he came to Grant, Nebr., where he married Mabel Banks in 1934. One daughter, Ann Marie, was born to them. In 1936 his custom combining business brought him to the Albin and Pine Bluffs communities, and in 1944 he brought his family to Pine Bluffs, where he established his grain and feed merchandising business.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mabel B. Walters, and a daughter, Mrs. James (Ann Marie) Sheffield, Pine Bluffs; two brothers, L. L. Walters, Pine Bluffs, Wyo., and C. L. Walters, Scottsbluff, Nebr.; two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Taylor, Denver and Mrs. Pauline Spence, Beatrice, Nebr., and three grandchildren, Walter Ralph, Christine and Donna.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Virgil and a sister, Velma Jane.
Relatives and friends coming from a distance for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Chet Walters and family, Scottsbluff; Mr. and Mrs. Robin Spence, Beatrice, Nebr.; Leo Connell and Mrs. Milo K. Taylor, Denver; Mr. and Mrs. David Banks, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Bringelson and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Larson, all of Gothenburg, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Kent Davis and Mrs. Jeweldine Gaibler, all of Farnam, Nebr.; Clark Reeves, North Platte; Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Petty and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Collier, Grant; Kenneth Wright, Salina, Kans., and Mr. and Mrs. Arvid Banks, Kimball.
