Marvin Babcock
Marvin M. Babcock, 65, of 1722 Seventh Avenue died Friday afternoon at the local hospital shortly after being admitted.
He was born in Farnam and had been a Kearney resident for 20 years. He was a toolmaker at Rockwell for 13 years before retiring in 1973.
Mr. Babcock was a member of the Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
Survivors are his wife, Grace M. of Kearney; two daughters, Ethel Mae Philby of Gibbon and Marjorie Babcock of Kearney; a son, Melvin of Kearney; four grandchildren; four sisters, Bea Davison, Mattie Baxter and Vi Pinkerton, all of Powell, Wyo., and Midge Baxter of Kearney.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter and a brother.
Services will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Horner-Lieske Mortuary with Pastor Carl Malmgren officiating and burial in Kearney Cemetery.
