Daniel Dell McNickle, eldest son of Dan and Grace Wood McNickle, was born at Farnam, Nebraska, on November 10, 1903, and died in Iowa City October 11, 1950, aged 46 years and 11 months.
On September 5, 1930, he was married to Thelma Moore of Omaha. To this union one son, Richard Daniel, was born.
After receiving his degree at the University of Nebraska he taught school in Nebraska and Arizona for ten years, then went to Iowa and became a farmer, living near Iowa Falls until his death.
Besides his wife and son he leaves his father; six brothers, Max and Clark of Farnam, Ralph of Gordon, Arthur of Tacoma, Wash., Francis of Sheridan, Wyo., and James of Littleton, Colo.; three sisters, Gwendolyn Cross of Denver, Kathleen Meyers of Penrose, Colo., Phyllis Allred of Wendell, Ida. His mother and brother Maynard preceeded him in death.
Dell became a member of the Congregational church in Farnam an early age, and took an active interest in church at the localities in which he lived. He maintained a membership in the Masons, Lions and Elk fraternities. He was a kind and loving husband, father, brother and friend and his passing leaves a vacancy in the hearts of those who knew him that will never be filled.
Funeral services were held at the Woods funeral home in Iowa Falls Saturday, October 14, and were in charge of the Mason lodge.
