Obituary Collection
Cecile M. Palmer

Cecile M. Palmer, 83, Farnam native and longtime North Platte resident, died Feb. 20, 1992, at a local nursing home.

Born Nov. 29, 1908, to John and Belle Wear Roberts near Farnam, she attended country school, graduating from Farnam High School in 1925.

She lived in Denver, Colo, where she worked for Montgomery Ward for five years. She also lived in California for 2½ years before moving to North Platte in 1933. On Jan. 14, 1934, she married Frank Lyle Palmer in North Platte.

Mrs. Palmer was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Signet Chapter 55 OES and was a past member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Locomotive, Firemen and Enginemen. She also belonged to bridge and pinochle clubs.

Survivors include her husband, Frank of North Platte; a son, Gary of Robbinsdale, Minn.; a brother Lawrence of Richland, Wash.; and a sister, Doris Harlan of Idaho Springs, Colo.

Preceding her in death were three brothers, Harry, Eldon and John; and four sisters, Gladys Bialek, Olive Roberts, Winnifred Briggs and Rachel Hadley.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Odean Colonial Chapel at C and Sycamore with the Rev. Jay Vetter of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the North Platte Cemetery.

A memorial has been established. Odean Colonial Chapel at C and Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
