Omar C. Kitchen

Funeral services for Omar C. Kitchen, 84, 809 East 5th, who died Tuesday in a local hospital, will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Adams-Swanson Chapel. Dr. Hughes B. Morris, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will officiate.

Mr. Kitchen was born Jan. 16, 1885 in Humboldt, Neb. and was a retired conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad. He came to Farnam with his parents when he was a small boy, and later farmed in the Moorefield and Curtis communities. In 1923 he came to North Platte and hired out to the Union Pacific Railroad.

He retired in 1955, and hea and his wife observed their 59th wedding anniversary June 5. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Platte Valley Lodge 32 AF & AM, Signet Chapter 55 Order of the Eastern Star, Walla Walla Lodge 56 IOOF, and Union Pacific Oldtimers Club 8.

Survivors include his wife, Della; one son, Garrold, San Francisco; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Faulkes, Laguna Hills, Calif., two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The casket will not be opened following the service.

Burial will be in the Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens.

A memorial has been established in his name at the First United Methodist Church.
