Obituary

Rebecca Florence Lippincott was born at Creston, Iowa, on May 12th, 1849, and grew to womanhood in that community. On Feb. 29th, 1884, she was united in marriage with Frank Earl at Corning, Iowa. About five years after their marriage they moved to Dawson county, Neb., and have lived here for the period of forty years.

To this union were born three sons and four daughters, all of whom are living. Those left to mourn are: three sons, Warren Earl, Joe Earl and Dewey Earl, of Gothenburg; four daughters, Mrs. C. E. Northey and Mrs. Will Dodd, of Gothenburg, Mrs. I. R. Siemiller of Farnam, and Mrs. J. H. Golden of Gandy. Her husband, Frank Earl, passed away March 23, 1910. Two sisters, Mrs. Sarah A. Connolly, Niangua, Mo., and Matilly Means of Mt. Etna, Ia., are also left, and one brother, Ami Lippincott. Two sisters preceded her in death, Lidy Eliot, Mt. Etna, Ia., Bertha Staggs, Knoxville, Ia., and also one brother, Tom Lippincott, Mt. Etna, Iowa. She leaves also 27 grandchildren and one great grandchild, Bonnie Brown.

In her childhood she united with the Dundark Church, and was a strong believer and was a member of the Creston, Iowa, church until her death.

Her final sickness was about six months in duration. Because of her failing health she came to live with her daughter, Mrs. Will Dodd, in the latter part of May. Gradually she sank away until Tuesday, June 25th, she passed from this earthly life.

Funeral services were held at three o’clock Thursday afternoon at Banner Methodist church, conducted by Rev. Joseph Stopford, and burial was made at Peckham cemetery.
