Obituary Collection
Louise Pearle (Caley) Ainlay

The community was saddened by the death of Louise Pearle Ainlay at the Highland hospital in Auburn, California, on October 2, 1944.

A daughter of Robert V. S. and Emeroy Caley, she was born in LaPorte City, Iowa, December 5, 1878. In 1888, the family moved to Wallace, Nebraska. In 1891, they moved to Elwood and a short time later to Cozad, where the mother passed away. Shortly after her mother's death the family again moved to Farnam. She attended Farnam High School and later went to school in Omaha.

She was married to Thomas Watson Ainlay May 28, 1902, and they established their home in Gothenburg, later returning to Farnam.

One son, Forrest C., was born to this union.

In 1927, the family moved to Denver, where he was engaged in the manufacture of placer mining equipment. In 1937, they moved to Auburn, California.

She is survived by her husband, her son and wife of Los Angeles, California; two sisters, Mrs. Cora Parker and Mrs. Floy Thompson of Farnam and one brother, Dell Caley, of Lusk, Wyoming. One brother and one sister preceded her in death.

Mrs. Ainlay was converted when a young girl and joined the Baptist church at Farnam, where she was a faithful and loyal member until called by her Savior. She possessed a beautiful contralto voice and was active in the choir as long as her health permitted.

She was a devoted wife and loving mother. She expressed her sentiments shortly before her death by saying she had no fear of death or the hereafter. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her loved ones that can never be filled, but the memory of the beautiful life she lived will aid and comfort them as they go through life.

Funeral services were held Thursday, October 5, in Auburn with Rev. Harms of The Baptist church officiating. Interment was in the Forest Lawn cemetery at Glendale, California.

The Farnam Press 5(4):1 Thursday, Oct. 12, 1944.
