Stockville Pioneer Called
William Clark Wollam was born September 24, 1850, in Fredrictown Columbia County, Ohio. In 1856 he moved to Van Buren County, Iowa, where he resided with his parents until 1869, when he moved to Wichita, Kan., only staying there about nine months, when he moved back to Van Buren County, Iowa. Here he was united in marriage to Frances O. Cook on October 28, 1874.
Children born to this union are: Morris, Lyman, Nebraska; Ida Hathaway of Stockville; Elzie of Portland, Ore.; Delbert of Stockville; Otis of Slater, Wyo.; Otto of Norfolk, Nebr.; Amelda Teeters of Indian Hill, Wyo. One daughter died in infancy.
In 1878 Mr. Wollam was converted and he joined the Christian church, of which he has been a member until his death.
He moved with his family to Filmore county, Nebraska, in 1881 where he lived until 1892 when he moved to Frontier county, Nebraska. Here he has since lived, excepting three years when he lived in Goshen County, Wyoming. He always claimed Frontier County as his home.
Mr. Wollam passed away at North Platte, December 18, 1936, at the age of 86 years, 2 months and 24 days. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a multitude of friends.
