Hazel Marguerite Huston
Hazel Marguerite Huston was born at Utica, Montana, April 12, 1894 and pased away at her home in Eustis, Nebraska, November 14, 1948 at the age of 54 years, 7 months and 2 days.
At the age of two she moved with her parents from Montana to Atkinson, Nebraska, where she grew to young girlhood.
She was united with the Methodist church at York, Nebraska, at the age of sixteen. At York, she completed her advanced education.
On January 12, 1913 she was united in marriage to Angie William Miller, also of York, Nebraska. To this union six children were born.
In 1914 Mr. and Mrs. Miller moved to the Farnam community where they resided on a farm until 1927, at which time they moved into Farnam.
Mrs. Miller transferred her membership to the Methodist church in Farnam, where she was an ever active and faithful worker.
In 1942 the family moved to Eustis where Mrs. Miller joined the Methodist church. Here, too she was always loyal to her church participating in every activity where she could be of help.
In January 1947 a severe illness forced her to discontinue her much loved work.
During her long illness she was ever cheerful and optimistic—always seeking to lighten the burden and anxiety of those around her.
She fought a courageous fight sustained by her love for others and her sincere and abiding faith in God.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, and six children: Claude Miller of Omaha, Nebr., Mrs. Jean Adkisson of Tillamook, Oregon, Mrs. Zoe Derra of Eustis, Nebr., Mrs. Mrs. Rachel Eineman of Santa Ana, Calif., and Quentin and Yolande of Eustis, also five grandchildren, as well as two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Fells of Fort Worth, Texas and Mrs. Mabel Miller of Atkinson, Nebr. Three sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, several nephews and nieces, other relatives and a host of friends will mourn her passing.
She was a kind and loving wife and mother, always considering her family with a supreme and unselfish devotion. Words cannot adquately express how greatly we shall miss her.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Eustis Tuesday, November 16th at 2:00 p.m. The pastor, Rev. Otto A Quaife was in charge of the service. Music was furnished by the double male quartet with Miss Ruby Hueftle accompanist. Pallbearers were Louis Bartruff, Fred Timm, Fred Wiessert, Walter Hueftle, Albert Gall and Floyd Axtell. Interment was in the Eustis Methodist cemetery.
I cannot say—I will not say
That she is dead...she is just away!
With a cheery smile and a wave of the hand
She was wandered into an unknown land
And left us dreaming how very fair
It needs must be, since she lingers there,
And you—O you, who the wildest yearn
For the old-time step and the glad return
Think of her faring on, as dear
In the love of There, as the love of Here;
Think of her still as the same I say,
She is not dead...she is just away!
