Obituary Collection
Cecil Williams

Cecil, son of Clyde and Daisy Garven Williams, was born in Eustis, Nebraska on August 20, 1911 and died in Ashdown, Arkansas on August 17, 1981. He grew to manhood in the Farnam area of Nebraska.

In 1937 he married Lillian Wallace of Nampa, Idaho. They had one son, Kenneth, who now lives in Houston, Texas and two daughters, Kaye Glasgow, of Houston and Jill Dudley of Ashdown.

Cecil worked as building superintendent in construction of homes in Harlingen, Texas for a number of years. At the time of his retirement he was a carpenter for the California Polytechnic college in Pomona. They moved to Ashdown in the fall of 1980.

He was an active member of the Baptist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, three children, two son-in-laws, five grandsons, two granddaughters, four brothers, Wayne of Farnam, Donald of St. Cloud, Minnesota, Dale of Graham, Washington, Russell of Eustis and two sisters, Doris Rhoades of Albany, Oregon and Lois Fleming of Riverside, California, and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, Billie, and two sisters, Virginia Rice of Farnam and Geneva Hart of Wichita, Kansas.

Services were held at the Calvary Baptist Church on Friday, August 21, 1981. Interment was in a family plot at Ashdown, Arkansas.
