Cecil A. Reckard
Cecil A. Reckard was the child of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Reckard, he was born in Stapleton, Nebr., Jan 1, 1914; he was the grandson of W. E. Palmer, with whom he died.
He leaves father and mother, three brothers and two sisters. The brothers are Lee, Montgomery, and Russell, the sisters are Rena and Vesta.
While in the company of his grandfather he fell out of the buggy when they tried to cross a ravine which was full of water and notwithstanding the effort of the latter to save him he drowned. He was the sunshine of the home and the favorite of the one with whom he died.
Thus the whole community is thrown into mourning by the departure of these two. One a monument of the Christian manhood, the other called to the Savior’s bosom before he had been polluted by sin. Their departure will leave an aching void in many hearts and a place in society which will be hard to fill.
To walk in the footsteps of W. E. Palmer is to be near the Master.
We are thankful that in the case of neither of these is there any doubt as to their being at rest in the paradise of God; one by one the fact of his acceptance of the Savior whom he served so long, the other by virtue of the efficacy of the blood of Christ to save all who have not come to the age of accountability; for in heaven his angel beholds the face of the Father.
