Dora M. Weiss
Dora M. Weiss, 96, of Curtis died March 19, 2002, at Sunset Haven.
She was born Nov. 18, 1905, near Farnam in Frontier County to George and Clara McMichael Johnson. She graduated from Stockville High School in 1923.
On Aug. 31, 1927, she married Fred Edward “Ed” Weiss in Stockville. He preceded her in death in May 1977. They lived on a farm east of Stockville, moving to Curtis in 1969. She had lived at Sunset Haven for the past four years.
Mrs. Weiss was a member of the Stockville Congregational Church and past member of several social clubs. She was also an avid quilter.
Survivors include three daughters, llene (Buford) Rockwell of North Platte, Velma Resseguie of Eddyville, Ky., and Lavinna Banzhaf of Eustis; a son, Harlan (Lupe) of Curtis; a sister, Donna (Raymond) Swanson of Wauneta; a brother, Millard (Effie) Johnson of Cambridge; eight grandchildren, Kim (Lorena) Rockwell of North Platte, Doug (Mari) Banzhaf of Eustis, Debbie Banzhaf of Tekama, Brenda (Greg) Mullins of Algonia, Iowa, DeAnna (Don) Eby of Overton, Mark Weiss of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Jeffrey (Sara) Banzhaf and Richard (Patti) Weiss, both of Omaha; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon; her parents; a granddaughter, Tammy Resseguie; two grandsons, Dennis Resseguie and Randy Banzhaf; and a great-grandson, Danny Resseguie.
Memorials are suggested to the Stockville Congregational Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Stockville Congregational Church with the Rev. Rod Forrester officiating. Burial will be in the Arbor Cemetery.
