Warnock, Ruth J.
CAMBRIDGE - Ruth J. Warnock, 90, of Cambridge, died Nov. 19, 2007, at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
Ruth was born near Freedom on Feb. 15, 1917, to Charles and Maude Campbell Pickel. She was united in marriage to Vernon O. Warnock.
Ruth was a very faithful member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Cambridge. She loved the music and to sing along in church. Ruth was active with the Cambridge Senior Center. She loved to travel to Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota, especially if there was a place with slot machines to play. Ruth went on many bus trips with the Jerry Petersen Tours. She was an excellent cook.
Survivors include three daughters, Kay (John) Marshall of Lawton, Okla., Pat (Jim) Baker of Farnam, Geanine (Larry) Subat of Yorkville, Ill.; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon, Sept. 16, 1986; two sisters, Dorthy Tines, Fay Balcom; and one grandson, Christopher Subat.
Memorials may be left in Ruth's name to the Cambridge Senior Center.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge with the Rev. Dana Keener officiating.
Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery of Cambridge.
Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Lockenour-Jones Mortuary.
