Donella J. Tiede, 73, of Overton, Neb., died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006, at Plum Creek Care Center in Lexington, Neb.

She was born June 12, 1932, in Farnam, Neb., to W.B. and Mildred (Nelson) Heath. The family moved to Overton in 1938 where she graduated from Overton High School with the class of 1950.

On Sept. 7, 1951 she married Marvin Tiede in Overton. To this union one son, Garry, was born.

The family moved to various places in Nebraska including Elm Creek, Minden, Lexington, and Grant where they spent over 20 years. After retirement they moved to Overton where they have made their home ever since.

Donella was very active in all the communities where she lived. While in Grant she was the secretary for the United Methodist Church.

When she returned to Overton she was the bookkeeper for the Overton Beacon. She was an active church member and was a member of the Overton United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

She was also a member of DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution).

She enjoyed gardening, flowers and sewing. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband Marvin Tiede of Overton; son Garry Tiede of Greeley, Colo.; mother Mildred Heath of Overton, Neb.; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father and two sisters, Polly and Barbara.

Memorial service was held Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006 at the Overton United Methodist Church with Rev. Bonnie Linton-Hendrick officiating.

Donella's wishes were to be cremated. Burial will be at a later date.

Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington was in charge of arrangements.
