CLYDE THOMPSON INJURED IN FALL
While picking a few cherries for household use Monday, July 1, Clyde Thompson of Husum fell from a short ladder he was using injuring the spine.
After one night at Skyline he was transferred to the Good Samaritan hospital, Portland. He is paralyzed from the waist down and his condition is critical. Mr. Thompson is Mrs. Roy E. Griffith's stepfather and is 80 years old.

SERVICES HELD TUESDAY FOR C. THOMPSON
Services for Clyde C. Thompson, many years a resident of this community were held on July 16, at Gardner's Funeral home here.
Clyde C. Thompson passed away on July 13, at the Clark County Hosp. in Vancouver. He was 79. Clyde Thompson was born at Hamburg, Iowa. Rev. Coulson of Husum, officiated at the service.
Surviving are his wife, Della L. of Husum; a son Eldon of Farnam, Nebraska and 4 step-children, Mrs. Roy Griffith, Husum; Lloyd Merryfield of San Bernadino, California; Mrs. Elsa Runnells, Oregon City, Oregon; Dale Merryfield, Milwaukee, Oregon, 5 grand children; 9 great grand children and 2 great great grand children.

CLYDE THOMPSON DIES FROM FALL
Spinal injuries received in a fall from a cherry tree caused the death of Clyde C. Thompson, 79, of Husum at a Vancouver hospital last Saturday, July 13.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, at Gardner's Funeral home. The Rev. Mr. Homer Coulson officiated. Burial was in the Odd Fellows cemetery.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife Della L. of Husum; a son Eldon of Farnam, Neb.; four stepchildren, Mrs. Roy (Edna) Griffith of Husum; Lloyd Merryfield of San Bernardino, Calif.; Elsa Runnells of Oregon City, Ore.; Dale Merryfield, Milwaukee, Ore.
Also a brother, Wm. A. Thompson of Meridan, Idaho; sister, Lola Lovall, Denver, Colo.; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Joe Vezina, Chesley Cuff, George Hendryx, Carl Teel, Harry Talbert and Jack Fredericks.
