Lula M. Stapp
CAMBRIDGE-- Lula M. Stapp, 90, died Thursday (Feb. 28, 2008) at the Cambridge Manor Tri Valley Health System.
She was born in Frontier County southwest of Farnam on May 23, 1917, to John and Mable (Rose) Adkisson. She attended country school though the eighth grade.
On Nov. 8, 1933, she married Earnest Mrylin Stapp in North Platte. They farmed several different farms until they bought their farm north of Bartley in 1936. They continued farming until they retired and moved to Cambridge in 1974.
She was a seamstress, making almost all the clothing the family wore and made Barbie doll clothing for more than 25 years.
She was a member of the Busy Bee Club, Merry Mixers and Card Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Myrlin on Oct. 22, 1994; an infant daughter. Marilyn Maxine at birth: three brothers, Harry, Harold and Dale; four sisters, Edna, Stella, Zella and Hazel; three grandchildren, Candice and Dana Stapp and Rickey Goltl; and a son-in-law, James Horn.
She is survived by her son, Deliven and wife, Shirley Stapp of Billings, Mont.; three daughters, Patricia Ann and husband, Carl Johnson of Cambridge, Beverly and husband, Roger Goltl of McCook and Connie Horn of Aurora, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m., at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge, with Raymond Durner officiating. Interment will be in the Bartley Cemetery.
Memorials may be left in her name to the Furnas County Cancer Fund.
Lockenour-Jones Mortuary of Cambridge is in charge of arrangements.
