Gary Wayne Slack, 43, died Jan. 8, 2001, at Gothenburg.

He was born to Gerald Floyd and Ina Marie Newton Slack July 6, 1957, in Gothenburg. He graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1976. He worked at Coop Feed Mill for many years and later farmed northeast of Gothenburg with his father. In the last few years he had to quit farming due to health reasons.

Mr. Slack is survived by his mother; a sister, Donna (John) Hazen of Farnam; three brothers, Dean (Pam) Slack of Curtis, Ron (Connie) Slack of Callaway and Eugene (Mary Jo) Slack of Cheyenne, Wyo.; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father on Dec. 21, 1998, and by his grandparents.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Banner United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Bickett officiating. Burial will be in the Peckham Cemetery.
