Rhoda Judith Johnson Seay
Rhoda Judith Johnson Seay of Greeley, Colo., formerly of Farnam, died Aug. 7, 2000, at Kenton Manor in Greeley. She was 90.
She was born June 13, 1910, to Emil and Judith Isaacson Johnson at Bertrand, where she lived until she was 9. In 1919, her family moved to the Farnam area where she attended public school.
In September 1928, she married Marion Johnson of Farnam. They farmed in the Farnam area for 40 years. They also did custodial work for the Farnam Public School. In 1959, they moved to Greeley. Her husband died Jan. 19, 1961.
In January 1970, she married Thomas Donald Seay of Estes, Colo., where they lived until they moved to Ault, Colo. She then moved to Kenton Manor at Greeley. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When her health permitted, she spent many hours doing embroidery work. She enjoyed fishing, flowers and making lap robes for the veterans hospitals and nursing homes. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Ault Senior Center.
Mrs. Seay is survived by her husband; two sons, Gordon (Elen) of LaGrand, Ore., and Raymond (Agnes) of Wallowa, Ore.; three sisters, Aliene (Harlan) Stewart of LaCanada, Calif., Dorothy (Dean) Milner of Imperial and Adelay (Harry) Bassler of Tehachapi, Calif.; three brothers, Ardell (Jean) of Ogallala, Donald (Karen) of Chadron and Forrest (Jewel) of Gothenburg; eight grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene: her parents; four sisters; and three brothers.
Memorial services were Aug. 11, 2000, at Adamson Memorial Chapel in Greeley. Burial was in the Ault Cemetery.
