Martin T. Schurr
Martin Schurr, 90, of Eustis died Nov. 8, 1999, at Tri-County Hospital in Lexington.
He was born Nov. 12, 1908, near Farnam to Christian and Mary Gaibler Schurr. He attended District 98 rural school. He was drafted into the Army Air Force in 1942. After his discharge in 1945, he returned to Eustis.
On April 16, 1946, he married Erna Gall. He farmed near Orafino before purchasing the Gottlieb Seybold farm northwest of Eustis in 1952. His entire life centered around farming and ranching. His pride and joy were his wife, children and grandchildren.
Mr. Schurr was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church and a member of the Hablitzel-Zwink American Legion Post 257.
Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Beverly (Ken) Sherrets of Omaha, Susan (Dallas) Whitford of Lincoln, Jeanne (Dan) Hoselton of Juniata, Marian (Mike) Feddersen of Oconto and Vivian (Ken) Carriker of Culbertson; three sons, Larry, Stan (Cindy) and David, all of Eustis; a sister, Alma Schurr of Elwood, 13 grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Rose Schurr of Eustis and Estella Tillotson of Farnam.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, six brothers and two infant grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Eustis with Pastor Don Hunszeker officiating. Burial will be in Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell with military honors.
