Alma Schurr
Alma Schurr, 96, of Eustis died June 8, 2001, at the Elwood Care Center.
She was born Aug. 23, 1904, near Farnam to Christ and Mary Gaibler Schurr. She attended District 98 rural school She lived in Denver and Omaha for several years where she did maid work. She returned to rural Farnam where she later took care of her mother and did housekeeping for her brother.
In 1973, she moved to Eustis and had lived at the Elwood Care Center for the past eight years. She enjoyed her numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Eustis, the Mary Martha Circle and the U and I Extension Club.
Survivors include three sisters-in-law, Rose Schurr of Lexington, Estella Tillotson of Farnam and Erna Schurr of Eustis; nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna and Mary; and seven brothers, Fred, Albert, George, John, Willie, Martin and Art.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church at Eustis with the Rev. Bill Waterman officiating. Burial will be in the East Cemetery.
