Harry L. Saum
Harry L. Saum, 66, of Grant. Died Sept. 3, 1993, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 28, 1927, at Brandon to Harry and Opal Coykendall Saum. He graduated from Farnam High School in 1945 and joined the U. S. Army, serving for two years in World War II.
After working briefly in North Platte he moved to Grant and Married Donna Powell in Grant on Jan. 21, 1951. He owned and operated the Lennox Heating and Air service in Grant for 28 years before retiring in 1991. He married Helen Barnason at Wheatridge, Colo., on May 29, 1986.
He was a member of the Grant Congregational Church, the Grant Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star, the Shriners, The Grant American Legion and presently served as a Nebraska Deputy Custodian with the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Helen of North Platte; a daughter, Pam (Randy) Koch of Cozad; his mother of Grant; three brothers, Forrest of Elm Creek, Hal of Kearney and Burnell of Hamilton, Mont.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. MT Tuesday at the Grant Congregational Church with the Rev. Ed Zimmerman officiating. The casket will not be open. Burial will be 2:30 p.m. CT at the Fort McPherson National Cemetery with military and Masonic honors graveside.
Bullock-Long Funeral Home of Grant is in charge of arrangements.
