Raymond Boyd Rosenfelt

Raymond Boyd Rosenfelt, 72, died Sunday, Aug. 9, at Norman Regional Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel in Purcell with Sunny Stewart officiating. Burial will be at Denver Cemetery in Little Axe. Wadley’s Funeral Service is handling arrangements.

Mr. Rosenfelt was born June 25, 1931, in Moorefield, Neb., to Clyde and Marie Sorenson Rosenfelt. He had lived in the Norman area since moving from Missouri in 1950. He was raised and attended school in Nebraska. He married Clara Mae Givens Nov. 26, 1952, in Tecumseh. He was inducted into the Army in January 1953 in Norman. He received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged Jan. 21, 1955, with the rank of corporal. He was a farmer and a Lutheran.

Mr. Rosenfelt is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Denis Rosenfelt. Mr. Rosenfelt is survived by his wife, Clara Mae Rosenfelt of the home; sons, Gene Rosenfelt and wife, Linda, of Noble, Chuck Rosenfelt and wife, Dennese, of Lexington and Mike Rosenfelt and wife, Karen, of Norman; brothers, Ted and Ronnie Rosenfelt, both of Little Axe; sisters, Margaret and Donna Rosenfelt, both of Little Axe; good friend, Chip Huff of Pink; grandchildren, Rustie and Shawna Rosenfelt, Jennifer and Adam Greenwell, Amy and Andy Rosenfelt, Monica Meyer and Falon Harrington; and great-grandchildren, Madison (Maddie) Rosenfelt and Christian Dale and Emily Suzanne Nipper.

Bearers will be Bobby and Ronnie York, Jeff Rosenfelt, Danny and Gary Todd, Darrel Smith, Isaac Gibson and Quay Prough. Honorary bearers will be Jimmy Williams, Otis Oliphant, Jerry Burton, Chip Huff and Glen Rosenfelt.

Publisher's Note: Raymond lived with his family near Farnam, Nebraska when in the elementary grades and attended school there until the family moved in the ‘40’s. His cousins, Barbara (Nickerson) Sherlock of Gothenburg, Cliff Nickerson, Jr., of Lexington and the late Madeline "Madie" (Nickerson) Widick are the children of his deceased aunt, Elma Rosenfelt Nickerson, formerly of Farnam and Gothenburg.
