Lynn “Ruth” Raney

Lynn “Ruth” Raney, age 59, of Cozad, died Jan. 15, 2012 at the Golden Living Care Center in Cozad.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012 at 5 p.m. at the Cozad Christian Church with Pastor Jeremy Jech officiating. There will be no inurnment.

Visitation for memorial book signatures will be held one hour prior to service time at the church on Wednesday.

Lynn was born Feb. 1, 1952 at Moorefield to Wayne and Fay (Maret) Claflin. She attended Farnam High School.

Following her schooling, Lynn made her home in Farnam before moving to Wichita, Kan., to work for the Boeing Company. Lynn's career in security at Boeing spanned 25 years; she was held in very high regard, having been honored many times for her quality of work. Eventually, her position took her to Huntsville, Ala., where she worked until her health would no longer allow. In 2005, she moved to Cozad where she had lived until the present.

Lynn enjoyed country music and dancing. She had a fondness for dogs and birds and absolutely loved horses. Her career was fulfilling to her and always brought her great joy. She loved to cook and entertain, her favorite moments involved doing these things with her family.

Survivors include her two sons, Todd (Holly) Lindvall of Stamford, Conn., Josh Lindvall of Huntsville, Ala.; daughter, Lori Lindvall of Prospect, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Harrison, Shayann and Dusti; two brothers, Ed (Shirley) Claflin and Mike (Deb) Claflin, all of Gothenburg; sister, Cindy (Ron) Sabin of McCook and many other relatives and friends.

Lynn was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Nita, Donna and Marilyn.

A memorial has been established in her memory.
