George Edward Ralston
George Edward Ralston was born to Ossa and John Ralston in
Lincoln county, Colorado, near Ordway October 23, 1919. He died
November 28, 1981 at the hospital in North Platte at the age of
62 years, 1 month and 5 days.
In 1933, he moved with his parents from Colorado to Curtis,
where he grew to manhood.
On November 26, 1941, George was united in marriage to
Frances Murray from Farnam. They had been married 40 years.
To this union six children were born; Alice (Mrs. Jack)
Hinton of Northglenn, Colo.; John of North Platte; Lee of
McCook; Connie (Mrs. Kendall) Traupe of Holbrook; Kenneth of
Cambridge; and Linda (Mrs. Tony) Monte of Englewood, Colo.
They made their home at Orafino and Stockville. While living
in Stockville, he was a member of the school board for several
years, coached the boys’ Little League Baseball Team and was a
longtime member of the Stockville IOOF Lodge No. 179, remaining
a member after moving to Curtis in 1966.
In 1945, he began working for the State of Nebraska
Department of Roads, where he was employed at the time of his
death.
Preceding him in death were his father John, and one brother,
Everett. Surviving are his wife; six chldren; ten grandchildren;
his mother, Ossa; one sister, Mrs. Evelyn Covey of Curtis; and
two brothers, Glen of Broomfield, Colo., and Lawrence of Curtis.
The funeral was Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church was
Rev. Albert Kleinsasser officiating. Burial was in the Curtis
Cemetery.
