FATHER OF Q. B. POLLARD
  PASSES AWAY AT CAMBRIDGE

M. S. Pollard of Cambridge passed away Sunday at his daughter's home there. Mr. Pollard had been in poor health for many months before his death. He had visited his son here many times, and had a large number of acquaintances and friends in Farnam who extend their sympathy to the bereaved family.

Morgan Strode Pollard

Morgan Strode Pollard was born at Manchester, Ohio July 11, 1844 and departed this life June 24, 1934 at the age of 89 years, 11 months and 13 days.

Mr. Pollard spent his childhood days in his native state, Ohio. At the age of 17 years he enlisted in the 7th Ohio volunteer cavalry and served in active defense of his country until he was mustered out on his twenty-first birthday in 1865.

After his discharge from the army he went to Taylorville, Ill., where he was untied in marriage to Mary Jane Shannon October 4, 1866.

They spent their early married life in Illinois and Iowa, coming to eastern Nebraska in 1882. In 1885, they moved to Cambridge, Nebr., where they resided until his death, with the exception of six years when they lived in Holbrook where Mrs. Pollard departed this life June 9, 1928. Since her death he has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Levi Decker of Cambridge.

He was a charter member of the G.A.R. and has served as state commander. He was the last living member of the order in Cambridge.

He leaves to mourn his departure three sons and three daughters: Q. B. Pollard, Farnam, Nebr., A. F. Pollard, Torrington, Wyo., Mrs. Harriet Yingling, Texarkana, Ark., Mrs. J. W. Taylor, Topeka, Kans., Mrs. Levi Decker and W. O. Pollard of Cambridge. He also leaves thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
