Edith V. (Austin) Pollard

Mrs. Edith V. Pollard, wife of G. W. Pollard, 905 Euclid, Boulder, Colo., died late Tuesday evening, Dec. 8 in the Community Hospital in Boulder following a brief illness.

Mrs. Pollard was born Nov. 9, 1896 in Farnam, Nebr., to William P. and Emma L. Austin. She was married to Mr. Pollard in Farnam on Jan. 1, 1915.

In 1941, they moved to Boulder and for many years, Mr. Pollard was on the sales staff of the Montgomery Ward store until retiring.

Mrs. Pollard was active in civic and church work. A member of the First Methodist Church, she served both as a trustee and on the board of stewards. She was a past president of the Woman's Society of the Christian Service of the church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Donald L. of Fresno, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Evelyn Pollard of Denver; two grandchildren, Carol and Linda Pollard of Denver, Colo.

There are two sisters, Mrs. Fred Rowland of Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Ellen Craig of Gering, Nebr. A son, Clark Walter Pollard, died Aug. 6, 1955.

Memorial services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday in the First Methodist Church in Boulder. Interment was in a Boulder cemetery.
