Keithen LaVern Peirsol, 68, of Hernando Beach South, Florida, died on April 26, 2002. Keithen was born in Farnam, Nebraska to Elvin and Pansy Thomalla Peirsol. He graduated from Farnam High School in 1951.

Mr. Peirsol was retired from the U.S. Navy in 1974, after 21 years, and then went to work for Virginia Power and retired in 1994. He was a member of the Knights of Pythians and the American Duck Pin Association. He enjoyed traveling in his RV and playing with his dog, Pepper.

Keithen was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy (Hollibaugh) Peirsol and by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Delores A. Peirsol; five sons, Barton G. (Erva) Peirsol of Farnam, Nebraska; Bryan L. (Patty) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Bradley L. Peirsol of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Bobby L. Peirsol and Benjie L. Peirsol both of Norfolk, Virginia; one daughter, Belinda Kay (David) Snipes of Yorktown, Virginia; three stepdaughters, Deborah Fallot of Louisville, Kentucky; Kimberly Womack of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and Tracie Wrinfree of Hernando Beach South, Florida; one sister, Marilyn (Elvin) Gardner of Farnam; and 13 grandchildren.

The funeral was conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2002, at the Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel by Rev. Frank E. Drake.

Entombment with full military honors followed in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
