Ruth Owen Nichelson, 68, of Benedict and a native of Farnam, died Jan. 11, 1995, at York.

She was born Sept. 13, 1926, at Farnam to Frank H. and Ethel Barrett Owen. She taught rural school.

On June 28, 1947, she married Alvin E. Nichelson at Norton, Kan.

Mrs. Nichelson was a member of the First church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include a son, Alvin Eugene (Cheryl) of Wichita, Kan.; four daughters, Sharon Louise (Darrell) Hartman of Overton, Ethel Marie (Richard) Newbrey of Stockton, Calif., Velma Jean (Mike) Kroeker of York and Charlotte Rae (Dan) Rosenquist of Fairmont; three sisters, Lois Kjar of Buffalo, Mo., Gail Wesch of Maywood and Lila Maline of North Platte; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in December 1993; a brother and a sister.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Steve Swanson officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.

The family is receiving memorial donations.
