Esther Olive (Welch) Miller
Esther Olive Welch was born August 9th, 1865 at Red Oak, Iowa
and passed away at her home in Farnam at 7:15 a.m. February 4th
at the age of 68 years, 5 months and 25 days.
She came to Dawson county at the age of fourteen and spent
the remainder of her days in this county.
She was married to J. J. Miller Jan. 20, 1884. To this union
six children were born, four sons and two daughters. John G.
Miller of Gothenburg, Nebr.; Susie C. Austin who passed away in
August, 1917; Myrtle M. Austin of Gothenburg, Nebr.; Ira O.,
Orville F., and Harold H., of Farnam. She also leaves two
stepsons, George Miller of Cozad, Nebr.; and A. J. Miller of
Lingle, Wyoming.
Three brothers and two sisters all of whom reside in
California. Her husband, Mr. J. J. Miller passed to his reward
September 2, 1928.
Mrs. Miller was affiliated with the Methodist church since a
young woman. She was a good mother and will be greatly missed
by her family and many friends.
Funeral services were held from the Methodist church Tuesday
afternoon at 2 o’clock. Rev. C. R. Tanner officiating. Burial
at the Fairview cemetery south of Cozad beside her husband.
