Violet G (Gendrow) McKeown
Mrs. Violet G. McKeown, 87, widow of Samuel who died in 1957, died at Buffalo, New York, January 9, 1971.
Rev. and Mrs. McKeown became acquainted while serving as missionaries in Liberia and were married in 1916.
Their daughter, Esther, has been with her mother at Buffalo.
The McKeowns first assignment in the Nebraska Conference of the Methodist Church after their return from Liberia was at Overton. Among other charges were Farnam, and Elgin. Rev. McKeown was appointed Chaplain at the Nebraska State penitentiary by former Governor Val Peterson and at that time the family moved to Lincoln where they remained until they took their retirement and moved to Buffalo to be near their daughter and other relatives.
