James Leon Lewis
James Leon Lewis was born February 28, 1863 in Warren county,
Pennsylvania; he moved with his parents to Buffalo county,
Nebraska, at the age of 16. In the spring of 1890, he moved to
Frontier county on the farm where he still resided until the
time of his death, October 18, 1918.
He was united in marriage August 20, 1899 to Mary Ellen
Stubblefield and to this union were born seven children, four
sons and three daughters, all of whom remain to mourn the loss
of a kind and loving father.
In early life, he gave his heart to God, uniting with the
Presbyterian church and has since followed the golden rule,
living a constant christian life.
Besides his immediate family he also leaves one brother and
three sisters, he being the oldest and first to depart of a
family of five.
Funeral services were held at the home south of Farnam Sunday
afternoon, conducted by Rev. T. E. Gillet, pastor of the Farnam
Methodist church. Interment was made in the Stowe cemetery.
