Emma (Banks) Larson
Emma (Banks) Larson was one of seven children born to Swan and Laura Banks. She was born in a sod house near Campbell, Nebraska on April 30, 1894. The family resided there until they moved to a farm near Farnam in 1911.
Emma's early life was spent caring for her brothers and sisters and later for her own parents.
She clerked in stores in Farnam and Gothenburg. Her hand at seamstress work was known in both towns.
On Oct. 24, 1942, she was married to Leonard Larson. They made their home in Gothenburg.
Emma was a member of the Gothenburg Evangelical Free Church since 1937. She was also a member of the Women's Missionary Society of the church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
On Oct. 2, 1983, the Lord took her home to glory. Burial was in Fort McPherson at Maxwell.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard of Gothenburg; one brother, Arvid of Gothenburg; one sister, Mabel Walters of Blakely, Ga.; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Leonard and David; two sisters, Marie Reeves and Elsie Davis.
