Obituary Collection
Rillie (Moffett) LaBounty

Rillie Moffett was born near Bethel, Mo, March 5, 1871 and died at the hospital in Rochester, Minn., February 8, 1920, age 48 years, 11 months and 3 days. She moved with her parents to Nuckolls County, Nebraska in 1882, where she lived until she grew to womanhood. On March 6th, 1890, she was united in marriage to Albert LaBounty. In 1893 they moved to Frontier County and resided in and near Moorefield until 1918, when they moved to Farnam, and have since made their home there. To this union were born six children, one of whom died in infancy; the other five three daughters and two sons are still living and were present at the funeral, Mrs. Ethel Ealy, Mrs. Virgie Logan, Mrs. Ina Slonecker -- Mr. Allan LaBounty of Morecroft, Wyoming, and Marion LaBounty, who is at home. Besides her children and husband, she leaves an aged mother, one sister and three brothers to mourn her loss. She was a member of the Degree of Honor fraternity and was a woman who was most earnestly devoted to her family and friends. She was a most devoted wife, mother and kind neighbor. In passing from this life to the other she will be missed here, but she will be over there to welcome the family as they come one by one.

Funeral services were held in the Methodist church in Moorefield, conducted by Rev. Mayfield of Stockville, he using the text of John 11:31 “Jesus Wept,” after which the remains were laid to rest by the side of her darling baby in Moorefield Cemetery to await the call of the resurrection morning, when the family circle will be united forever.

We are sure the large congregation, which packed the church to its utmost capacity, is but a pledge of the deep sympathy of the entire community for the bereaved family. The floral offerings were the most beautiful that I have ever seen. May the Lord comfort and sustain the bereaved in this time of their affliction -- Contributed.

The Stockville Faber, Frontier County Nebraska, Thursday, February 19, 1920
