Ruth D. Kruse

COZAD - Ruth D. Kruse, 78, died May 21, 2006, at her rural Cozad home.

She was born Nov. 11, 1927, at Prescott, Iowa, to Clarence and Elsie Bross Schrodt. She graduated from Cromwell High School in Iowa in 1946, and was employed at a Woolworth store. On Aug. 20, 1950, she married Robert Kruse at Cromwell. The couple made their home on a farm site north of Farnam. In 1962, they moved to their present home site, north of Cozad.

During her lifetime, she worked with her husband farming and raising cattle. Her pastimes included fishing, quilting and attending dances at the senior center. She had also traveled ex-tensively throughout the United States. She had always cherished time with her family.

She was a member of the Christian faith, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the O.E.S. Survivors include her husband, Robert of Cozad; a daughter, Barbara (Ken) Stevens of Brady; six grandchildren, Jeremyah (Jodi) Stevens and their children, Justin and Jaya of North Platte, Jolene (Chet) Rosner and their son, Morgan of Cozad, Tiffiny (Chad) Spurgin of Brady, Darby Stevens and fiancée, Nikki Guerra and children, Alexandria, Mariah, Aroque, Alijah and Jay-den of North Platte, LaDonna (Jeff) Brock and children Ty, Dade and Dakin of Gothenburg and Becky Stevens and fiancé, Jeremy Bartels and daughter, Harley of Brady; two brothers, Drexel (Lucille) Schrodt of Afton, Iowa, and Francis (Betty) Schrodt of Pinellas Park, Flo.; and two sisters, Jerry (Carroll) Strader of Quartzsite, Ariz., and Thelma Luddington of Creston, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald, and a great grandson, Mickale Rosner.

A memorial has been established and condolences may be shared at www.berrymanfuneralhome.com.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Cozad Christian Church with Jeremy Jech officiating. Burial will be in the Ft. McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad.
