Mary E. Kellie
CURTIS - Mary E. Kellie, 92, of Curtis, died Sept. 4, 2005, at Sunset Haven Nursing Home in Curtis.
She was born Feb. 17, 1913, at Atlanta, Ne., to Jess and Flora Johnston Weekly. She was raised in the Tryon and North Platte area. She graduated from North Platte High School in 1930.
She was married to Louis Kellie, Feb. 18, 1934, at Sutherland. In 1935, they lived in Colorado for a short time. They moved back to Nebraska and lived at Farnam, Wellfleet and Curtis. Mary helped Louis operate Kellie's Salvage for many years in Curtis. Louis preceded her in death July 1, 1980.
Survivors include a son, Marion (Alberta) Kellie of North Platte; a sister, Agnes Gosnell of North Platte; four grandchildren, Christine (Randy) Edwards of North Platte, Donal (Pontip) Kellie of North Platte, Daniel (Cindy) Kellie of North Platte and Catherine (Dan) Hernandez of Tampa, Fla.; 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers, Howard, Lowell, Otis and Virgil; and a sister, Lucille.
A memorial has been established.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Berean Fundamental Church in Curtis with the Rev. Melvin Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Curtis Cemetery in Curtis.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Blase-Wetzel Funeral home in Curtis.
