Dorothy Marie (Edson) (Craig) Freeman, 77, of Tucson, Ariz., died March 9, 1999, after a short illness.

She graduated from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, Calif., with a bachelor's degree in education and a master's degree in history. She was an elementary school teacher from 1938 to 1988. The last 22 years were with the Tracy, Calif., Public Schools. She was on the Board of Directors for two years with Del Webb of Tucson.

Survivors include two daughters, Leslie (Frank) Hatanaka of Redding, Calif., and Carmin (Bill) Dinkins of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a son, Robert Craig of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters, Trina Stevenson of Hershey and Ruby Carmin of Douglas, Wyo.; a brother C. R. Edson of Fremont; five grandchildren, Ashley and Steve Dinkins of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Nicole, Kyle and Logan Hatanaka of Redding, Calif.

Services were held on March 12, 1999, in Tucson. Adair Funeral Homes, Avalon Chapel was in charge.
