Arthur M Fickenscher
Hastings -- Arthur M Fickenscher, 85, died Febraury 1, 1994, at Villa Grace. Mr Fickenscher was a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for 28 years.
He was born November 23, 1908 in Gothenburg to Adams and Louise Spahr Fickenscher and was a veteran of the United States Army during World War II.
On June 21, 1942 he married Erma Franzen in Denver, Colorado.
He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Disabled American Veterans, and the American Legion.
Mr. Fickenscher moved to Hastings in 1984 from Moorefield.
Survivors include his wife of Hastings; two sons, Earl W. of Kearney and Dean G. of San Antonio, Texas; three daughters, Lynnette (Ken) Beerman of South Sioux City, Connie Fickenscher Rol of Kearney, and Gwen (Tim) Davidson of Hastings; a sister, Alice Ross of Cupertino, California; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were a sister, Lena Schmidt; and two brothers, Paul and Herman.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Zion Lutheran Church with the Reverend Richard Kothe officiating. Burial will be in the Parkview Cemetery.
A memorial has bee established.
Butler-Volland Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
