Elinor I. England
Elinor I. England, 95, of Kearney died Nov. 16, 2011, at St. John's Good Samaritan Center in Kearney.
She was born on May 24, 1916, in Rosemont to Angeloua and Martha (Sikorsky) Foster. She grew up in the areas of Rosemont, Farnam, Gothenburg, Stapleton, Sedgewick County and Brady. She graduated from Brady High School on May 17, 1934. She graduated from Kearney Normal School in 1936.
She was married to Robert E. England on Aug. 29, 1942, while he was stationed at Ft. Knox, Ky. They lived on a ranch near North Platte. She retired in Kearney in 1990.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in North Platte and attended the First Presbyterian Church in Kearney.
Survivors include her sons, Stephen R. (Jeanine), of Kearney, and Michael A. (Cathy), of Gibbon; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Robert on June 27, 2002.
Services will be at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 21, at Fort McPherson National Cemetery with the Rev. Lisa Danielson officiating.
Visitation will be from 5:30-7 p.m. on Sunday at O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney.
