Madolene Edson
The memorial service for Madolene Edson, 89, of Fremont will be 2 p.m. Friday at First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, of Fremont.
She died Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at Fremont Area Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 19, 1917, in Farnam to Oliver [Lee] and Mabel (Cloyd) Hudson. She grew up in Farnam and moved to Norfolk in 1937. She then lived in McCook, North Platte and Columbus and came to Fremont in 1942. She was employed at Tiny Togs from 1950 to 1966, then Gail's Fashions until 1982. She was owner and operator of LaGina's Fashion Boutique in Fremont from 1982 until retiring in 1993.
She married C.R. “Doc” Edson on May 5, 1935, in Gothenburg.
She was a member of First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, and the Women's Fellowship at church. She also was a member of Altrusa Club.
Survivors include: her husband; a son, Larry (and wife, Regina) Edson of Parsons, Kan.; a daughter, Patricia (and husband, Don) Stafford of Fremont; two grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren, three great-grandchildren and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
The Rev. Terri Akkerman will officiate Friday's service. There is no visitation, however, friends may sign the register book from noon to 5 p.m. today at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont.
A memorial has been established to the church.
