Obituary Collection
Clara G. Donner

Clara G. “Ma” Donner 84 of Cozad formerly of Gothenburg died June 21, 2008 at Bryan LGH East in Lincoln, NE.

Clara G. Donner was born on November 6, 1923 to Claude and Fern (Hurley) Clement at Montrose, CO. Clara grew up in Farnam and attended schools there.

On April 21, 1941 Clara married Ray Eugene Donner. Clara and Ray raised six children: Virginia, Jerry, Jo Ann, Steve, Dallas, and Theresa. Clara worked hard to help raise and provide for her family. She worked many jobs including the Gothenburg Memorial Hospital, the Cozad Hospital, Monroe, Goshen, and was a house keeper.

Clara enjoyed bingo, scratch tickets, playing the penny slots at the Casino. Her favorite thing to do was crocheting. She enjoyed making afghans for all of her family and friends and was even know as the afghan lady to some. The most important thing in Clara’s life though was her family. She enjoyed spending as much time as she could with them. She loved the Holiday’s because it meant spending time as a family. She enjoyed cooking for the gatherings and you could count on her to bring the grandkids spice drops. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether that be fishing, hunting or just spending time at the lake with family.

Clara was always very polite calling everyone darling and sweetheart, whether she know them or not. She had a loving personality that drew people to her the moment she spoke with them.

Clara is survived by two sons: Jerry (Kathy) Donner of North Platte, NE; Dallas (Millie) Donner of Cozad, NE; three daughters: Virginia Stevens of Grand Island, NE; JoAnn Anglemyer of Loup City, NE; Theresa (Lane) Dishman of Downs, KS; Sisters: Ora McMichael of Farnam, NE; Deloris Miller of North Platte, NE; Dorothy Lange of Freemont; sister-in-law Peggy (Jerry) Feddersen of Gothenburg, NE; 19 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ray, son Steve, two brothers [Emerald, Wayne], two sisters [Eva, Liona], and three grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2008, from 10:00 am - 8:00 pm at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska with the family present from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at 10:30 am at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel in Gothenburg, Nebraska with Pastor Larry Viter officiating.
