Dale Eugene Crossgrove
Dale Eugene Crossgrove 82, of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, formerly of Lincoln, passed away suddenly on April 8, 2009 at his home. Dale was born in Farnam to Lynn and Iva Crossgrove, a farming family, on June 18, 1926. He graduated from Farnam High School and then served in the Navy in the Pacific Fleet. Dale also attended Wesleyan University in Lincoln. After a long career in the automotive business, Dale and his wife, Betty, retired to El Dorado Springs in 1980. Dale enjoyed fishing, reading, flea markets and dancing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Corinne Crossgrove; his parents Lynn and Iva Crossgrove; and a sister Ardyce Owen.
Dale is survived by his wife, Betty, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Arlean Crossgrove; daughter and son-in-law, April and John Sampson; brother, Roger Crossgrove; three grandchildren, Cori, Blake and Claire; and four great-grandchildren.
Services for Dale Crossgrove will be held at the Bland-Hackleman Chapel on Saturday afternoon, April 11, 2009, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Patty Smith officiating. Burial will be on Monday, April 13, 2009, at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Lincoln at 3 p.m. with Rev. Otis Young officiating the graveside service. Arrangments were under direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cedar County Library El Dorado Springs Branch. Family and friends are invited to visit and share memories with the family after the graveside service at the home of April and John Sampson at 4100 Saltillo Road, Lincoln.
