Roland E. Cross of Prineville died Tuesday. He was 76. A funeral service was held for him. A burial will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Juniper Haven Cemetery.

Mr. Cross was born Jan. 24, 1925, in Ingham, Neb., to Frederick and Pearl Cross. He married Bettye Kotschwar on April 4, 1945.

He was a log scalier for the U.S. Forest Service. Mr. Cross enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife of Prineville; one son, Fred of Salem; two daughters, Sheileyn Pilant of Lenbanon, Mo., and Belinda Jo Paxton of Prospect; one brother, Gordon of Farnam, Neb.; two sisters, Deloras Bunstock of Oberlin, Kan., and Audrey Kotschwar of Farnam, Neb.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of one's choice.
