Lennis D. Craig
Lennis D. Craig, age 72 years, of 230 West St. Waitsburg,
Wash. died May 28, 2003 at his home. Funeral services will be 10
a.m. today, May 30, 2003 at the First Christian Church in
Waitsburg, Wash. with the Rev. Mike Ferrians officiating.
Interment will be in the family plot in the Sara Union Cemetery
in Ridgefield, Wash. Those who wish may contribute to the
charity of the donor's choice through Hubbard-Rogg Funeral Home
111 South 2nd St. Dayton, WA 99328.
He was the fifth child of 12, born to Milton and Mabel Mercer
Craig on November 29, 1930 in Ingham, Nebraska. He attended
schools in Nebraska and served in the Army during the Korean
Conflict. On December 20, 1953 he married Virginia Lea Fletcher
in a ceremony held in Curtis. They moved to Portland, Ore. in
1966 and a year later to a small acreage in Ridgefield, Wash. He
loved his farm and enjoyed raising animals and gardening. He was
a jack of all trades; he worked for Columbia Grain Co. and was a
journeyman sheet metal worker. He retired in 1996 from S.E.H.
America, a computer chip maker. Mrs. Craig died June 25, 1997.
He came to Waitsburg two years ago.
He was a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by a son Michael Craig of Ridgefield,
Washington; three daughters; Sunny Johnson of Taft, Calif.,
Leslie Baker of San Antonio, Texas and Gloria Lybecker of
Waitsburg, Wash., nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren,
many nieces and nephews, brothers Zane of Hemmingford, Ne.,
Deloit of Cozad, Ne., Bruce of Bellvue, Ne. and three sisters
Karen (Ken) Diehl of Topeka, Kan., Kay (Brian) Morris of Huston
Texas and Coral (Tim) Hughbanks of Hastings, Ne. He was preceded
in death by his parents Milton and Mable Craig, four brothers
and a sister.
